A custom toolchain extracted the backup, parsed the database, built content data and a gallery manifest, copied images and checked links. The charity site was rebuilt as a static site with a lightweight CMS for editors, deployed to free edge hosting with GitHub sign-in for editors, and old URLs preserved with redirects.
The client keeps a CMS and loses the hosting bill and the plugin attack surface.
