A custom Python toolchain extracted the .wpress backup, parsed the database, built content JSON and a gallery manifest, copied images and checked links. The charity site was rebuilt as Eleventy 3 with Sveltia CMS for editors, deployed to Cloudflare Pages with a GitHub OAuth worker, and old URLs preserved with redirects.
The client keeps a CMS and loses the hosting bill and the plugin attack surface.
