Route between any two of roughly 4,000 matatu stages across 136 routes, optimising for fewest changes and then time. The Digital Matatus GTFS data is preprocessed into a compact graph and searched with Dijkstra over (stop, route-aboard) states with short walking links, entirely on the client, so the app works as an offline PWA.

What it does

  • Fewest-transfers routing with lexicographic (transfers, time) cost
  • Map explorer, nearest-stage GPS, saved trips
  • Offline-first PWA, no backend

A city-scale transit graph that fits in the browser: the whole planner runs client-side, which is why it works with no signal.
